The SENSAI Process:

Mastering Decision-Making in a Complex World

SENSAI is more than just a platform; it’s a meticulously designed online educational strategy rooted in robust cognitive science principles, engineered to transform professional reasoning and decision-making skills in complex and uncertain contexts.

Our approach helps organizations, professional associations, and higher education institutions effectively capture, transfer, and utilize valuable experiential knowledge. We achieve this by designing engaging, case-based learning experiences that focus on real, lasting impact.

Our Foundational Approach: Learning by Concordance (LbC)

At the core of SENSAI is the Learning by Concordance (LbC), an approach explicitly designed for fields that require reasoning within complexity and uncertainty, where there is often no single “correct” answer.

Reasoning

Just like a learner would in real life when encountering a complex and ambiguous situation:

  1. They are presented with:
    1. An action option in response to the situation.
    2. New information arising from the situation. They assess whether this new information strengthens or weakens the proposed action.
  2. They explain their response briefly.
  3. They compare their solution with those of experienced individuals or experts who have answered before them to see if there is alignment between their thinking and that of the experienced individuals.
Judgement

Just like a learner would in real life when encountering a complex and ambiguous situation:

  1. They are presented with:
    1. A behaviour in response to the situation.
  2. They must evaluate the acceptability of this behaviour in terms of the values of an organization or a code of ethics.
  3. They provide a clear and concise justification for their response.
  4. They compare their response with those of experienced individuals who have answered before them to see if there is alignment between their way of thinking and that of the skilled individuals.
